River Landing Riverfront is a premiere riverfront property and the subject of interest and debate since 1979. Consolidation of lands under City of Saskatoon control, strengthened by political will, resulted in the preparation of a Riverfront Master Plan by Crosby Hanna, which provided the framework for future implementation.
The site has been transformed into a pleasant urban riverfront which is vital, animated, safe and comfortable, and which engages community pride and excites visitors.
Primary goals of the River Landing Riverfront project included creating connections along the river by enhancing access to the riverbank and establishing a focal point for riverbank activities, creating a unique river-side identity which firmly establishes a sense of place, integrating the urban fabric and the river valley, and resolving the complex technical, environmental and jurisdictional approvals including remediation of brownfield site conditions.
