The Merlis Belsher Ice Facility on the University of Saskatchewan Campus is an important new facility for students, staff, and the Saskatoon Community. Crosby Hanna was responsible for all aspects of landscape development, from concept to detailed design, tender document creation and administration, and contract administration during construction phases. As Prime Consultant, we coordinated with a multi-disciplinary team of sub consultants to provide comprehensive design services. Site development features a spacious plaza designed to accommodate large groups of people, including a raised planter that doubles as seating. The landscape development also provides biking and pedestrian facilities, including landscape and multi-use pathway connections to an adjacent hotel and parking structure, and connections to the adjacent University and City of Saskatoon multi-use path networks, providing opportunities for active transportation into and through the site.
