The project was initiated by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways when it was determined that the routing for the new Regina Bypass would bisect the current Pacer Park ball diamond facility. To maintain this major recreational facility, the park was relocated approximately 2.5 kilometers north of the existing location. The project included the reinstallation of 14 ball diamonds and 2 batting cages, site drainage, landscaping, roadway, parking lots, tree planting and provision for 4 future buildings on 22 hectares of land. The new Pacer Park baseball facility is designed to national standards and the Pacer Park Club anticipates that, with the construction of a club house, national-level events will be attracted to the new state-of-the-art facility.
