Located within Wascana Centre, the construction of the Conexus corporate headquarters included a realignment to adjacent Wascana Drive, an accessible connection to the historic Darke Hall, and an underground parkade covered by an extensive plaza space. Crosby Hanna & Associates was engaged to complete site and landscape development. The project included a tree assessment to determine the health, condition and value of each tree on site, which informed a plan for protection, removal, and relocation. The new design includes tree planting, planting beds, a concrete plaza, retaining walls, irrigation, lighting, fixed site furniture, a stage, and space allocation for larger gatherings. The design, which was reviewed and approved by the Provincial Capital Commission, emphasizes connections with the mature landscape of the park while establishing a planting scheme that will be able to fit itself into the existing landscape and over time erase the boundary between old and new.
