The City of North Battleford Downtown Revitalization Action Plan combines a forward thinking vision with strategic direction and recommendation to revitalize North Battleford’s downtown. Input from community stakeholders, the North Battleford Business Improvement District, and the City of North Battleford Administration and Council helped shape the direction and goals of the Plan. The intent of the Plan was to guide development in the city centre over a 25 year period and to serve as a catalyst for generating investment, economic activity, and enjoyable street life in the heart of North Battleford. The objectives and strategies that form the Downtown Plan consist of both policy and design changes. Physical streetscape and building façade enhancement programs in four distinct character zones supported by policy recommendations related to downtown residential, retail, related activities and land use/development controls, provided a comprehensive planning framework to guide downtown improvement initiatives. Many of the recommendations, including streetscape improvements have since been implemented (constructed). As a follow up to this Plan, Crosby Hanna prepared a Downtown Parking Study which was also implemented by the City.
