Crosby Hanna has assisted the Whitecap Dakota First Nation with Community Planning efforts for over 20 years. Most recently, Crosby Hanna prepared a Comprehensive Community Plan and a Land Use Management Plan. This process involved extensive consultation with Chief and Council, community members, administrative staff, elders, the local women’s and men’s groups and high school students. The Land Use ManagementPlan is a law that the First Nation enacted to manage land use and development on-Reserve. This plan functions much the same as a city or town’s Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw, but in one single plan (law).
