For this former tenting campground, which closed in 2010, Crosby Hanna’s initial role was to redevelop and expand the layout and preliminary grading plan for a 56-site campground at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park. Campsite types included pull-through, layby and typical back-in, as well as a small number of tenting sites with roadside parking. The plan also included a naturalized playground and picnic area, locations for lavatory buildings, a service centre with showers, a picnic shelter, walking paths, visitor parking and accommodation for a future privately-run yurt-style camping experience. Crosby Hanna also provided the detailed design parameters for a revegetation plan to be applied on the disturbed slopes, and completed detailed design for the playground. The project is currently under construction.
