From 2007 to 2009, Crosby Hanna & Associates worked with the City of Prince Albert, the R.M. of Prince Albert, No. 461, and the R.M. of Buckland, No. 491 to renew the Official Community Plan for the Planning District, as well as new zoning bylaws for both rural municipalities. The Prince Albert Planning District is a large region consisting of agricultural areas, small hamlets and acreage developments, large commercial and industrial parks, provincial forest, and natural resource extraction. The highlight of this plan was the development of a mutually acceptable growth plan that provides increased development opportunities for the rural municipalities and protects land required for long term city growth.
